Magazine Mentions: Creating Keepsakes May/June 2011

 
We are so excited that this page by Colorbök designer Maria Filar is featured in the May/June issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine!  Maria created this layout using strips of Colorbök fabric available at JoAnn Fabric and Craft Larger Superstores. These fabrics are from the Sweet Blooms collection (designed by Renee) and our Heidi Grace Taking Flight collection.

To use this technique on your own pages, accordion-fold a strip of fabric, using a sewing machine or hot glue to secure the folds. Don't worry about making it perfect - a little unevenness adds to the charm!  To get a more distressed look, try slightly unraveling the edges of your fabric strip before folding.  Use colored staples to attach the strips to your page. Maria used a double layer of fabric as her main embellishment, and a smaller single strip of fabric as an accent.

Magazine Mentions: Friendly Forest Holiday Cards in PaperCrafts

Everyone seems to have fallen in love with our little Friendly Forest creatures. Now they're showing up on holiday cards! We think these card projects showcased in the November/ December issue of PaperCrafts magazine are super cute. It is always so exciting to see our designs in print!

The "Peace" card features our Friendly Forest flocked deer stickers.

On the left, another adorable Friendly Forest flocked sticker design of a little bird on a whimsical branch.  The card on the right features a Friendly Forest chipboard owl accent.

Here is another look at the card from the cover of the magazine and another card design, again using the Friendly Forest flocked stickers. Love the little hedgehog and squirrel...it looks like they might be under the mistletoe. 

Sharon, the designer of our Friendly Forest line, tells us this is her absolute favorite line. Congratulations Sharon, Janelle, and the rest of the team on Friendly Forest's continued popularity and another magazine mention!

Colorbök Artists in the Press this Month!

We have so many talented artists in the studio - two of which are featured in magazines this month!

Prototype Artist Daniel Shankland II's Forest Fire "Clear Cut" Robot is featured in this month's Italian edition of Wired magazine! (For the article in English, click here) Dan spent seven months designing and building this robot, which is designed to stop the spread of wildfires by creating clear cuts and firebreaks. Congratulations, Dan!

Also, check out Senior Designer Alisa Bobzien's creatively styled wedding in the Fall/Winter issue of Brides Michigan!  We love the elegant but relaxed feeling she and her husband created.

There is always a wave of elation that rolls through the studio when any of our products are mentioned in an industry publication.  It's an honor to be recognized in the scrapbooking community and seeing our products highlighted in print never gets old.  Therefore, one of our reoccurring posts here on the Colorbök Studio Blog will be "Magazine Mentions" to keep everyone up-to-date on our featured products.
