Toot! Toot!

Not to toot our own horn, but we're just SO excited about our latest news! Three of our awesome National Geographic craft kits have been singled out and awarded prizes by Creative Child Magazine! This means so much to us because these awards are chosen by moms, music educators and early education professionals rather than stuffy old judges with no knowledge of what kids LOVE!

Receiving the 2012 Seal of Excellence, our Sumi-e Artist Kit explores Japanese painting techniques. Your child can create a one-of-a-kind scroll masterpiece using an authentic bamboo brush and ink. They can also stamp their finished piece with their own personalized chop! This kit takes refrigerator art to a whole new level!

Next up is one of my personal favorites! Our Confetti Sculpting Paper-mache Kit rocks and Creative Child thought so too! They awarded it the 2012 Preferred Choice Award. Included is an instruction guide to create an erupting volcano, but if you're not interested in fiery explosions, we also showcase a bunch of other ideas to get your imagination going. 

 And lastly but by no means leastly (leastly?), only one product per category can win the coveted Toy of the Year Award and WE DID IT! Our Dinosaur Fossil Sand Clay Sculpting Kit is just so cool! You can create your own dinosaur fossils using clay that looks just like sand and if you really want to show off, you can make a dinosaur tooth necklace that will wow everyone you meet!

Fresh Ink!

Stop by your local Joann Fabric and Craft Store to grab a little "fresh ink" for your kids this Memorial Day. Your children can proudly sport their patriotism with these temporary tattoos. In honor of our nation's heroes, I also created matching coloring sheets. What a fun way to celebrate Memorial Day with your little ones!

Sneak Peek - National Geographic Craft Kits

School is almost out, but luckily these National Geographic Craft Kits are almost in... Walmart that is!

 

Keep your child learning all summer long with these fun and educational crafts.

Visit the Rain Forest and paint your very own jungle animal play set. Have a safari adventure by coloring and assembling 3-D Safari Animal Puzzles. Take a trip back in time with the Archaeological Sculpting Kit. Have fun with fossils by creating your own. You can even do a little prehistoric painting with the Dino-Rama Play Set.

I’m excited to show off these fun craft kits that are being sold at Walmart this Summer. For only 10 dollars you can add creativity AND hours of entertainment to your child’s carefree summer days.

Boxes of Love

Looking for an alternative to the same old Valentine's Day cards?
Check this out!

Using one of our own fabulous scrap packs from Walmart and the Heidi Grace Template Project Pack, we created the most festive of little boxes to share with our favorite daycare cuties!

Just trace the template onto any papers you prefer, cut them out, and fold! You can embellish your little gift boxes any way you like. We made simple little flowers with a hand cut heart in the middle of each.

And just what do you fill these boxes of love with?

Rather than adding to the sugar high the kids will already be on, we chose to pack our mini-boxes with an assortment of fun finds.

We just went to our local supermarket and picked up balloons, bubbles, bouncy balls, jelly bracelets, jiggly lizards and an assortment of cute little stickers. The kiddos are sure to love these little boxes that came straight from our hearts!

father's day project

so father's day will be a bit different this year with ryan deployed, but he still needs a handmade present from the girls.

Colorbök has some really good kid craft kits and one of them is the precious plate and bowl kits.  

this was a great project!  it was a perfect saturday morning activity for the girls.

the girls are starting to draw these darling little people, and this was an awesome way to capture them!

so we will show ryan this plate on skype, but for the rest of  you, this would be the coolest gift with a yummy daddy's day dinner or a plate full of cookies for dad!
