More Make it and Take it Highlights

Heidi joined us at the booths of Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Larger Superstores and Ever After Scrapbooks on Friday and Saturday at the CHA Supershow.  It was so fun to see crafters' jaws drop when they realized they were sitting across from or next to the one and only Heidi Grace.  Here are a few quick snapshots of Heidi with some of her biggest fans!

Make it and Take it #1

Our first project of the day is this really cute Sweet Blooms lanyard to take notes or get autographs in! Come make one with Brittany, Heidi and Susan at booth 809 from 12:00-2:00.

Sneak Peek #3

The last sneak peek before our departure for CHA features two of our favorite new collections, Woodhaven and Sweet Blooms.  These looks will be setting in Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Larger Superstores in February.  Woodhaven is a modern take on an all occasion boutique fused with family and nostalgia headlined with it's bicycles and birds. 

In contrast, Sweet Blooms instills life into any memory project with it's vivid colors and bounteous floral patterns and flourishes abound.

Stephanie over at mycraftadventures.com has done some really creative projects using these two boutiques as well.  This little birdhouse is just a snippet of what is brewing over there!

Sneak Peek #2

The consensus on paisley is that it's pretty much great for any memory and craft project.  On that note, we're pleased to present Crazy for Paisley by Heidi Grace - full of bold colors, sparkles and sweet little doodles in pretty paisleys.

Here are the make it and take its we will be doing at the Ever After Scrapbooks' booth (#1120) CHA Craft Supershow on Saturday starting at 2:00 PM. 

sweet whimsy!!!!!

so i received a very cool package today!!!

it had all the new product from two of the lines that we are releasing at CHA! YIPPEE!!!

it is super cute stuff, and i am so excited...of course the first thing was to unwrap and organize everything, which actually may be one of my favorite parts of this hobby.  then i started creating with it late this afternoon, after which my sweet husband offered to watch the kids this evening so i could take a short nap, then got up, ordered pizza, started to play again, and have just finished my first little test page...when i get one of my new lines i like to do a page that is just to test out new stuff so i can get familiar with the product...then the real creating will start!

here is one of my most favorite new items...it is rub-ons with little epoxy dots on top for extra little highlighted detail....they are so cute!!!

these are the cutest little printed metal brad toppers that are so easy to use, they just peel and stick. no more fuss with the punching through part!
  

i am loving the dimensional stickers!

this might be my favorite product to work with so far...they are dimensional glitter rub-ons, but they are made out a really flexible material so they are going to wrap and rub so easy on all sorts of surfaces...i can not wait to use them for other things!

we took it up a notch with epoxy accents and added a light foil detail...so cute!

 
 i am all about the gems...they never get old andare such a cute addition to any project!

ok, i need to sleep now so i can get up early and start more projects!!!!

Shh... Sneak Peek #1

We're gearing up for the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) show here at Colorbök and we want to share a little exclusive blog preview of what new product will be premiered in 2010.  Keep checking back for more tidbits of all the designs and projects leading up to next week's show.

Bella Baby is an adorable, whimsical boutique. The bright colors mixed with soft hues capture the classic yet playful nature of these themes and allow them the versatility to span multiple age groups.

January Designer Spotlight

*A quick interlude from all of us at Colorbök:  We are extremely busy here in Dexter as we are moving our corporate offices over the next two weeks.  We apologize in advance for any neglect of the blog or responses to questions.  Please peruse our archives and prepare for an amazing 2010.  Watch for an extensive amount of new product to hit the shelves in the next month!!

And now, for the designer of the month - Maria!

Most of my life revolves around trying new recipes, designing/ illustrating, or drinking gallons of coffee. I am always freezing cold, even in the summer. I am slightly….really obsessed with someday owning a pug or boston terrier.

What is your greatest inspiration?

I am inspired by so many artists, but some of my all-time favorite illustrators working in the field today are Jillian Tamaki, Marcos Chin, and Sterling Hundley. I also have an obsession with art and fashion from the 1960s- Mary Blair’s work is one of my biggest inspirations from that time.

Five things you cannot live without:

-Coffee. With a capital C.

-the internet (I can look at art and design blogs all day long!)

-my cat Zoey (although she is a devil child, she’s my baby!)

-surrounding myself with creative people

-my best friends  

What is one of your favorite products you have designed here at Colorbök?

The Perfect Pages Princess Page Kit. I started working on this the first month I started here at Colorbök and it is exciting to see my first project ready to be sold in Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Larger Superstores across the country!
